A few years ago, as a project for my photography course, we had to register the festival known as, “El Señor de los Milagros” (The Lord of Miracles). It was a traditional event brought to Chile by their Peruvian residents that celebrate “Cristo de Pachacamilla” (Christ of Pachamilla).

The image of Christ is carried on the back of several devotees. I’m not sure the exact weight of it, but I could tell that it was very heavy. This festival is done every year on October 18 and 19, reuniting the Peruvian immigrants in Santiago that pay their homage to the image.
